Trees For Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand

Welcome

Hello and Welcome to the Trees for Canterbury homepage.  We will be adding new information to this site from time to time so please take the time to come back and have another look around.  If you have any requests for information please do not hesitate to contact us.

This year we celebrated the successful planting of our 600,000th native plant donated into the community by Trees for Canterbury. This was done at our Travis Wetland community planting day.

Please do not hesitate to follow our donation link for a safe and secure and easy way of supporting our project.  Just click on the Help T4C Donate button on the left hand side of this page.

The picutre below is taken from a camera positioned above our potting shed.  If you click on the picture it will take you to a page which updates this picture every 10 minutes allowing you to capture a day in the life at TFC.  As you look at it from top to bottom you will see The Avon/Heathcote Estuary, Mt Pleasant, Charlesworth reserve and of course, part of our nursery.  The red crates are recycled milk crates which are useful for storing our plants in the nursery.  The plants in the bottom of the nursery are along our natural swaile system and as the year progresses will have red flowers and lots of birds.

We invite you to register for our plantings so you can become more involved with our work.  Please follow the links under plantings.

Throughout this site you will find information on the work of Trees for Canterbury and it's aims of EMPLOY, EDUCATE and REGENERATE.

We have included our plant list under products, but we must point out that we do run out of some of these lines throughout the year.  You will see that we stock common species such as Pittosporum, Hebe and Carex, but we also stock some of the rare and endangered species of our region also. Many of the plants we stock  are eco-sourced from the ecological districts of Canterbruy. Please do not hesitate to ask about other species that are not on our list.

Please take the time to look at our photo gallery, read the articles and follow the leads to our sponsors and supporters.
